Helper

December 14, 2022

Oh gentle friend

Oh beautiful Savior

I know it is you

When I settle in

To a peace

That passes all understanding

In the midst of dirty clothes

Soggy dishes

Dusty floors

Post It notes that cover my walls

The the endless “to dos” of the mundane world!

When I finally sit still

And ask

And say

Help me!

Guide me

What do I do next?

I feel

The tension leave my face

The muscles relax

My mouth break in to a smile

And I know

I remember

A thousand times a day I remember

That I am not alone

In this Work

That I have a helper and a friend

Who is with me always

A gentle guide,

A supporting partner,

Amen!
