Stretch and Release Part 2

December 17, 2022

RELEASE

A flower opening

A shell breaking

There is a push

A spilling forth

And I sit wide-eyed

In unfamiliar surroundings

A breeze touches my skin

I shiver

And am covered

By warmth

A blanket of love

Loving parents

Always there

My feather are

Crumpled sticky useless

I do not know

At this point

That they can be unfurled

Stretched wide

Creating shadows over whole cities

That they may be like the waves

That they may take me up

That with them

I may soar.
