Dancing
Is just around the corner
May I dance with you?
He admires
The flow of my skirt
And is a gentleman
He knows my secret admiration
For elegance
A gown
Black
Turned to
Powder blue
In the starlight
I dance
And laugh
In the great hall
My king, where are we now?
Suddenly a large window opens
And I recognize the scene
The caravan of mountains
The inlet where freshwater meets the sea
I have seen it
Many times before
But this place where we dance
Is a hidden chamber to me
It is a secret place
That opens into vaulted ceilings
High golden columns
Vases and armchairs in the corner
And tables for celebrations and eating
But mostly a massive dance floor
For twirling and sliding
For laughing
For sashaying
And exalting
And praising
And flying
Especially for flying.
